Tessera Construction ("Tessera," "we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from visitors to tesserakc.com and people who contact us, how we use it, who we share it with, and how you can exercise your rights.
Information we collect
We collect only what we need to respond to your inquiry and run our projects.
- Information you provide directly — when you submit a quote request, we collect your name, email, phone number (optional), property address, project description, preferred contact method, photos you choose to upload, and your SMS opt-in status.
- Communications — emails, SMS messages, and phone calls between you and Tessera, including their content and metadata.
- Site analytics — aggregated, privacy-respecting metrics (page views, general region, browser type) collected via Cloudflare. We do not use third-party tracking cookies that follow you across the web.
How we use your information
- To respond to your quote request and follow up on your project.
- To schedule appointments, send estimates, and document agreed scopes of work.
- To send appointment reminders, project status updates, and invoice notifications.
- To manage subcontractor coordination tied to your project.
- To comply with legal obligations, including contract disclosures required by Missouri law (R.S.Mo. § 407.937 and § 407.725).
We do not sell your personal information. Period.
SMS / text-message communications
SMS contact is opt-in only. When you check the SMS opt-in box on our quote form, you consent to receive text messages from Tessera Construction at the number you provided. The exact consent language on our form reads:
Yes, I'd like to receive SMS updates about my project from Tessera Construction. Message frequency varies; standard message and data rates apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe at any time.
Message frequency varies based on the stage of your project — typically a few messages per week during active work. Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply.
Opt-out: reply STOP to any SMS from Tessera to unsubscribe. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us at hello@tesserakc.com.
We do not send unsolicited SMS to numbers we obtained from third parties, public records, or lead lists. SMS is a relationship channel, not a prospecting channel.
Photo uploads
When you upload photos through the quote form, those images are stored in our project management system and used solely to scope and price your work. Photos remain associated with your project record. We will not publish your photos in marketing without separate written consent.
Sharing with third parties
We share information only with the parties needed to deliver your project:
- Subcontractors performing work on your project (name, address, scope — never your financial details).
- Software providers we use to operate the business: project management (JobTread), photo capture (CompanyCam), payments (Stripe), accounting (QuickBooks Online), and SMS/voice (Twilio). Each is bound by their own contractual privacy obligations.
- Government agencies when required to pull permits, schedule inspections, or comply with legal process.
How long we keep your information
Quote-request data we did not convert to a project: 18 months, then deleted. Project records (contracts, change orders, photos, invoices): retained for the longer of seven years or the period required by Missouri / Kansas tax and lien law. SMS opt-in records: retained as long as you remain opted in, plus the period required for carrier compliance audit.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or request deletion (subject to legal record-retention requirements). Email hello@tesserakc.com with the subject line "Privacy Request" and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
We use industry-standard transport encryption (HTTPS/TLS) on this website and on our forms. Your information is stored in vendor systems that comply with current industry security practices. No transmission method is 100% secure; we do our best to protect your data.
Children
Our services are directed at homeowners and property owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as our practices evolve. Material changes will be flagged on this page with a new effective date.
